Frustration.

Wouldn’t you think it’s bad when a company upgrades its firewall and the person primarily responsible for updating content on said company’s live web server can no longer gain access to it because traffic on port 22 (used for ssh) is now blocked?

Or how about blocking all port 443 (https) traffic – which ends up breaking the company’s online store, since customers can no longer access the secure transaction server?

That’s just the tip of the iceburg.

Gah.

  1. I’d offer my services but I’m pretty busy where I am right now. 🙂

That’s insane man, I mean really – the admin who did that would be fired from my place of work in a second if he/she did something bone-headed like that. Where did they get this person, the street?

Dot-com fallout is going to plague the world for a long, long time..unqualified people with positions of trust that shouldn’t have been given in the first place. I weep for the future.
