The Matrix Reloaded: The Abridged Script

I just found this link on Simon Willison’s web log. (I’m slowly getting caught up on the blogs I follow.) Don’t visit the link unless you’ve seen the movie, there are a few spoilers, and you might not catch all the humor.

(I especially liked the conversation at the end between Keanu Reeves and “The Explainer”. The IRC bit was fun, too.)

  1. OMG!! LMAO…

That pretty much sums it up, huh? *still lmao*

    Question.

I heard someone else say something about Neo being able to exert his powers in the “real world,” but I don’t remember that from the movie. Will you remind me?

  2. A quick summary is in the spoilers tag below (for obvious reasons). It’s been a few weeks since I saw the film, details are sketchy, but I think it’s enough to jog your memory.

(edit – duh, spoilers don’t work in comments -that sucks…)

    Spoliers tag removed:

At the end about 3 or 4 minutes from the “To Be Concluded…”

The Nebecanezzer (I know that’s not spelled right, but I’m too lazy to go look it up) has just crashed, and her crew is running away from the sentinels. Neo stops, looks back, holds up his hand and the squiddies drop dead, just as if they’ve been hit with an EMP or something. Neo seems to be drained from the experience too, and passes out.

Then, Niobe’s ship (the Logos??) appears over the horizon/big pile of scrap/whatever and picks Morpheus and his crew up. (rest of the summary removed to minimize spoilage)

    Does that help?

  3. Ahhhh ok. Yes, that helps. Thanks! Dummy me didn’t even pick up on that during the movie. If I did, it went away quickly. 🙂

  4. ROFL

    THE EXPLAINER
Many years ago, shortly before the
success of Speed, you sold your soul
to the devil in exchange for a
    promise of notoriety that your
    piss-poor acting skills do not
    deserve. This series is the
    actualization of this promise.
