Braking suddenly on a new mountain bike (complete with suspension system) to avoid a collision with an elderly gentleman and his dog who just became visible around the curve at the bottom of the hill is not advisable. Attempting said manouver at 25-30mph will result in being thrown head-first over the front of your handle-bars.
(At least I didn’t run down that old dude and his dog.)
And yes, I’m fine, just a few scrapes and bruises, and the need of a new helmet… learning how to take a fall in high-school wrestling probably protected me as much as that helmet did.
So, how was your Saturday?
Thankfully, uneventful compared to that. Glad you are alright. I went to a friend’s house and we played card games.
Dood, I haven’t done anything like that in….oh, about a year. ::sigh::
Fun it isn’t. Funny? Hell yes (even from the POV of the wounded).
You wear a helmet? –
To avoid landing on my head, I just use my back brakes, and if needing to stop quickly, turn sharply and slide sideways.
Rock on! What street were you on?
So you DO read the blog, simpsone. When are you and Lexi going to start positng?
BTW – Glad to hear E. finally got to come home. 🙂
Anyway, Chutta and I were riding up at Lake Chabot, I bailed near the dam at the bottom of the “big” hill that starts over by the Estudillo entrance to the park.
No metal pins needed. I think you still have me beat. 🙂
As a side note, what kind of bike did you get and approximately how much did it set you back (if you don’t mind my asking)? And I’ve been lurking for some time now, thak you very much.
