His Auntie would be so proud.

I haven’t been posting much about Justin’s growth and development here lately. (I’m also woefully behind with the whole picture posting thing.)

frostedlexicharm has been posting lots about eil and boy wonder, and I don’t want our blogs to turn into an “oh yeah well my baby does…” battle. I know they probably wouldn’t, but hey- better safe than sorry.

Anyway, he’s doing well. If anyone want’s more details I might summarize recent events in a comment, or something.

Now to address the title of this entry. Spinach and Justin do not get along well. His aunt (my sister) would be so proud. Maybe. You see, he seems to like it just fine, (unlike his aunt.) The problem is that his face and arms break out in a mild rash when we feed it to him. So we’ll back off on spinach for now and try again at a later time.

i wonder what we should introduce next.

  1. Hool, you know it wouldn’t be like that. šŸ™‚ Eli’s got enough trouble, I’m happy that yours is ‘normal’. I want to hear all the ‘normal’ things that are going on. I seem to be missing out on Boy Wonder’s babyhood, because I’m always rushing around with Eli, and that concerns me.

  2. Holds Head Up
    Reaches for and grasps objects.
Limited manipulation of objects (bottle, toys, etc. Loves to bang light-up, noise-making hammer, and has learned which orientation is most effective. I’m glad we don’t have downstairs neighbors)
Displays “Object Persistence” (abilty to remember existence/location of objects when not being directly observed – primarily the location of the cats water dish, even after it being moved)
Rolls with direction and intent. (Much to our chagrin when trying to change him)
“Swims” or “Scoots” (crawling without lifting tummy up off ground) with direction and intent (little bugger can really move now, much to the chagrin of our cats)
Gets up on hands and knees (but flops down to tummy when moving)
Sits up (lounges) in tripod position (one arm used for balance, weight distribution)
Sits up with for short periods of time (longer with assistance for balance – tends to fall to the side, or forward)
can support full weight on feet (when being lightly held for assistance with balance)
Smiles, Laughs, Babbles (primarily “aaaaaaaaaaa” consonates thrown in when upset (“B” and “M”), Grunts, Squeals, Cries
    Generally sleeps through the night
    Currently eats:
    Formula
    Rice Cereal
    Barley Cereal
Oatmeal (started last night in lieu of spinach)
    Peas
    Carrots
    Green Beans
    Spinach (not any more)
All veggies to date start fresh, are steamed, and then pureed
Cereals are single-grain baby cereals mixed with water and small mount of formula

    Weight: 17lb
    Height: 29in
(I’ll have to double-check those – they dont sound quite right)
    Disposition: Happy

So there is a quick summary, I’m sure I’m forgetting stuff.

  3. Mertuil did.

And I’m all upset now that I didn’t go. *sigh*

I shall never meet this child. Never. šŸ™

  4. Well, I’m sure you’ll get another chance. I believe The Auntie wants to take him to Plough again this coming Monday. (The 11th)
