Hehe – pretty cool, Gossip.
The latest version of outlook web access is probably one f the best webmail clients I’ve ever used.
It works really well in Firefox, even if most of the bells and whistles only work in IE.
This is, of course, my first impression of it after only having used it for about an hour. We’ll see what I think of it in a few days.
…so I could go with Jenny to her exam. We gt to hear the baby’s heartbeat for the first time. I’m still grinning. 🙂
Duckling is A-OK!
Start suggesting baby names First (and Middle)… I’d like to hear some ideas about what you’d name a child, especially if you have a reason why you like a particular name. Serious or silly – I’d like to hear them.
I’m not saying we’re going to use any of them, but I thought it’d be neat to hear what names you’ve always liked (or didn’t like), or what you’ve named your own children, and how you came up with the names.
For example:
Polly (Ester): Sounds like a synthetic fabric popular during the 70s (silly and mean – would never actually do that)
Helen: My grandmother’s name.
Issac (Oliver): My father suggested this for me (in jest) while I was still in the womb. He had his hand resting on my mother’s belly at the time, and I kicked him – just to be sure he know my thoughts on the matter.

As I just said in my previous post, I haven’t been blogging much. One of the reasons is because I’ve been waiting (since December) to write this one. I almost blew it a couple of times commenting on frostedlexicharm‘s blog. So I stopped blogging at all for a while, (with the exception of a couple random “work” or “on the net” posts)
So without further ado, I’d like to introduce you to “Duckling”:

I’m pretty excited, Jenny and I both are. I’m a little scared too, but people keep telling me that I’m going to make a good dad. I hope they’re right. We don’t know what the gender is yet, we should be finding out in a few weeks. I’ll be sure to post an update.
The baby is due on August 28th, but of course that date is subject to change with no notice. 🙂
Some of the folks here already knew about Duckling, and I’d like to take a moment to thank you for not spilling the beans.
You’re probably wondering why we’re calling the baby “Duckling”. We haven’t picked names yet (we’ve talked about a few different ideas, so we are thinking about them.) However, we have decided on a duck motif for the baby’s room, (yellows and greens are good gender neutral colors) so we thought Duckling would be a cute nickname. Certainly sounds better than “it” since we don’t know the gender yet.

I haven’t been posting much, nor have I been keeping up on my g-blog reading. (or my email) There are many reasons why… one of which will be made apparent soon. (as in a couple of minutes)

Mozilla Firebird Firefox 0.8 was released on Monday.
Mmmm, browser upgrade goodness. Lets see if I can still “install” it on a locked-down system.
So, a guy I used to work with at 3DO (well a couple of them, actually) is working on a new project: Xfire. Basically, it’s an IM client that allows people on your buddy list to see what game you’re playing, and for some games, will let them instantly join the server you’re on. For other games, it will give them the server details so they can find it themselves. It also has a cool “Friends of Friends” feature, to help you find new people to play against (or with) online.
Its in beta right now, and supports a whole slew of games (more than they have listed on thier site.) Check it out, if you don’t mind another chat client on your system. If you want to add me and can’t figure out what my username is, well… 🙂

The email address I use here got scraped (since I’m pretty sure Gossip wouldn’t sell it.) It was a “generic” name (blogger@…) that I used on a few different sites. I’ve updated my address here and on the glue forums to make sure they’re both unique, and I’ll be blocking mail sent to the old address.
What do you do if some spamming dickhead decides to forge their headers to make it look like all the crap they’re sending is coming from your domain?
I’ve already put a help ticket in with my hosting provider reporting the problem, and I’m archiving all the bounceback messages. I’m not sure what else there is to do. I don’t really have the time right now to sift through all these messages trying to track the culprit(s) down.
