When did that happen?

Zhan, I probably wouldn’t have noticed for a few more days if you hadn’t mentioned it.

I guess that’s what I get for hiding off-line for a couple of weeks. Grats, Zhaneel. 🙂 I’m actually a little surprised you didn’t take over the number 2 spot sooner. For the life of me, I can’t figure out why I’ve had so many hits since Gossip added the tracking system.

There are a couple of entries I’ve been kicking around in my head. They’re a little different from my normal ramblings, or the “link” blogs (an entry where I just post a few links I found that I want to remember) I normaly post. A little more personal, and probably a more interesting read. I’m still not entirely sure I want to post them, and I don’t know why that is. I think I might try out the new privacy feature. I’ll post one or two, make the appropriate edits, and then open them up (or re-post them) to the public.

3 Hours to Go

Soon I’ll be counting down the minutes until my vacation. The only reason I haven’t left already is that I’m waiting on a delivery from an outside design agency. I don’t really want to have to come in on Monday if I don’t have to – of course if I do, that’s 8 hours less PTO I have to burn…

Tick Tock.

Out Shopping…

my wife and I are out doing some christmas shopping – in the rain.
There is a new shopping center in Emeryville that we decided to check out. We just ducked into an Apple Store to get out of the rain for a bit. Just thought I’d hop on one of the iLamps and see if it had net access. It does. 🙂

(Yes, I am a geek, and a g-blog addict.)

I want one of these G4’s that are sitting next to the iMacs…

Anyway – back out into the weather we go!

I think I have to be an adult now.

In addition to being married, having a steady job, regular bills, a home (an apartment, anyway,) and several friends who have started families, I have one more thing to add to my list of “come on, face it, you’re an adult now – NO NEVER!” list.

Today I turn 25.

I was curious to see what notable figures I share a birthday with. Here are a few that jumped out at me:

1932 Little Richard [Wayne Penniman] — Macon GA, rocker (Tutti Frutti, Lucille)
1901 Werner Heisenberg — German physicist/discovered uncertainty (Nobel 1932)
1901 Walter Elias Disney — Chicago IL, animator (Mickey Mouse)
1839 George Armstrong Custer — Major General (Union volunteers, of Little Big Horn fame)

I don’t know if anyone remembers my blog entries about a couple of friends who have a baby with some serious health problems or not…

(I’d look for the entries and link them, but I’m feeling kind of lazy right now.)

Anyway, I got some news via email yesterday, and some more this morning. UCLA medical center called Sunday to say that they had found a doner. After a small ordeal trying to get from SF to LA, (8 hour drive in about 5 since SFO was fogged in, anda flight wouldn’t have gotten them there in time…) the surgery appears to have been successful and the baby is doing well.

E. is not out of the woods yet, but his survival chances have just gone WAY up.

I’m being intentionally vague, as I beleive the parents are planning to set up blogs, and I don’t want to step on any toes.

Anyway – Cire and Lexi, if you read this, (and create accounts,) drop me a line. I’ll go back and change names in my blog entries for consistency if you wish.

(And yes, I’m just guessing at what user names you’d select…)

A small world come full-circle

Jenny and I went to the Gaskell’s Halloween Masquerade this evening. We brought chutta along with us, and thanks in part to that mask you see below, we finally met FanBoy and Zhaneel in person.

(I’m changing my profile image – here’s the mask I refer to)

We’ve pretty much been just missing each other for the last year or so. We’d skip a dance they were going to or vice-versa. Anyway, we were all there this evening. I was wearing my mask when Zhan and FanBoy came in the front door. Zhan saw it as she was greeting some other friends, waved to me and tentatively called out “Hooloovoo?”

We introduced ourselves to each other before scurrying off in different directions prior to the dance. A few moments later, chutta said: “You’ve already met him, I think…” (reffering to FanBoy)

It’s true: FanBoy and I were both part of “Barely Legal” a Rocky Horror Piscture Show cast that performs in the SF Bay Area. I didn’t recognize him because the last time I’d seen him he had much longer hair, (which was cut earlier this year) but we chatted about it a bit later in the evening. (When Jenny’s sister tried to introduce us…again. Ha!)

So, to recap:
FanBoy used to work lights for a RHPS cast in the late-ninetys
Hooloovoo joined that cast in the later-ninetys (as the tranny “Rainbow Rob”)
Hooloovoo met his future wife through mutual friends at Rocky
FanBoy left the cast
Hooloovoo and Jenny went on “permanent hiatus”
FanBoy and Zhaneel find this game called Jumpgate and a community site: PJG
Hooloovoo finds this game called Jumpgate and a community site: PJG
Gossip (who ran PJG) starts up G-Blog.net, through which we discover that we all go to Gaskell’s
A year later we finaly meet up, and realize that we had in fact first met several years before.

Funny how things work out, sometimes.

Anyway, Jenny and I had a great time at Gaskell’s. Zhan, I apologize for leading you into a couple of traffic jams during that Gallop. FanBoy, it was good to meet you– again. 🙂 And it’s good to finally be able put faces (and a real names) to the blogs. 🙂 Hope to see you at the next dance.

Methinks it’s time for bed now.
