That’s what I get for spending a few days off-line, Mozilla Firebird 0.6 was released last Saturday.
I’ve completed the download, and I’ll be running the installer just as soon as I’m done writing this, and I finish reading the other tabs I’ve got open.
wonders if it’s about time to check out thunderbird as well…
I think I’ll wait for at least one more build before I really take a look at that.
There’s a nifty little program that I use at work (and I home) called ACDSee.
One of the features that comes in handy is the “print contact sheet”option which I use during the selection process for image galleries. When you get 200 some-odd screencaps and you need to pick 10-20 “good” ones, being able to print out proofs can be a life saver.
Anyway, I started a print job at 16:11 of 120 images (but these are much higher rez than normal) I got it about 15 min ago (17:22) I’m still waiting for the second batch I stared at 16:25, and there’s someone in the print queue after me who just wants to print out a 300k word document.
I didn’t break the printer, I swear. You’ll get your word document – but it may not be tonight.
Everyday, I become more and more convinced that US lawmakers just don’t get “IT”.
Here’s a wonderful recent example
Oi.
Something’s funky with the power grid in my company’s building.
Power has been cut to my workstation 4 times in the last 15 minutes, (twice in rapid succession,) forcing my machine to reboot. Others in my bullpen have not been affected, but teams in other areas have.
Kind of wierd watching the overhead lights (the ones that are on, anyway) do thier own version of “the wave” seen at many large sporting events.
Here’s to hopig the power stays on

Does anyone else see the irony in spam advertising a spam-stopping service? I guess the funniest thing is that this message would have triggered my SpamAssassin filters and been dumped had it been sent to my home account.
AM 910 and XM 130 will be going dark tonight. This makes me sad, as it is the station that I end up listening to the most during my commute. I haven’t signed up for thier new online only offering. I’ll probably check it out, but I doubt I’ll stick with it.
So, should I switch to a music station, the local traffic/news station, NPR? I haven’t really decided yet. I’ll proably be spending most of my commute time next week channel surfing.
If I were to ever get a table computer, this is what I’d want. (just download and uncompress the zip, and watch the mp4 file with quicktime..)
Too bad it doesn’t actually exist.

Yesterday during our lunch-break, a few of my coworkers and I hit the local Toys R Us. (To do some X-Mas shopping – yeah, that’s it…) Anyway, I was poking around over in the videogame area when I came across an interesting kiosk. It had a GBA with a new peripheral installed: the Nintendo e-Reader.
Basically, you buy this reader, and you can use it to scan cards that have “Dot Code” printed along the side. Depending on the complexity of the Dot Code needed, an entire game, (or some text, or a picture or something,) can be encoded on anywhere from 1-5 cards. The technology reminds me of the punch-cards that used to be used to program computers.
I just thought it was interesting. (Even if there is a Pokemon tie-in…)
